A Letter to my Mother

“A mother is she who can take the place of all other but whose place no one else can take”

  – Cardinal Mermillod

I wanted to take the time to let the world out there know a little about my mother…yes this is going to get personal and a little ‘mushy’ but people can just deal.  My mom came from a long line of strong and inspirational women and she definitely lives up to that female tradition.  It didn’t matter what was thrown at her, mom made sure that my brother and I always felt loved and important.  She made sure that we always had everything we needed, even though it was a struggle sometimes.  Things hardly went the ‘easy’ way which is sadly the case for many.  There is a specific person who has caused her pain for many years and is still at it and it breaks my heart to see her hurting.  Even though she deals with this pain, she would go out of her way to do things for not only my brother and myself, but for her friends and even a stranger who needs her help.  Like many good people in this world, she doesn’t deserve the card that she was dealt, but I know she can work her magic and turn that card into a royal flush because she has the strength to do so.

Mom, you are amazing, strong, brave and one who will never be replaced or even compared to.

I have two wishes:

1) That you will find the happiness that you deserve

2) That I will be a mother that mirrors everything you are

A very grateful daughter
