Introducing Nickie

Drum Roll Please…

…this is me, a 29 year old Author, blogger, artist, photographer, dancer, self proclaimed chef, wife and my new favourite title, mother!  I’m known to be outgoing, creative, loving and a complete smart alloc! I have a silly side that balances the professional side of me. The first word that usually comes to people’s mind when they think of me is, driven. I’m ambitious with dreams bigger than my heart. I work hard and don’t usually stop.

I came to learn that sometimes we all need a little inspiration so I try to be that for people. Whether it’s through my blog, my books or my visits to different schools, I try to help inspire you to laugh, love, live and dream big.

This is my family…this is my everything.   Meet my husband, Brandon and the newest addition, born on August 23, 2013, is our little girl, Piper Jubilee.  I will do anything for these two.  Their smiles inspire me everyday to be better, go big and live my dreams. On that note…

I am happy to announce that on September 27, 2014, my dreams came true. This is the date that the first two books of my children’s series launched.  It’s a first step novel series for kids ages 6 – 10, with take home novel studies available for each book so your children can enjoy learning at home with you or with their teacher in the classroom!  To learn more about the book series, click here and take a peak!

I wrote my first book when I was 8 years old, inspired by a Scholastics’ book series that encouraged me to read and keep reading. I’ve always wanted to be a part of that; part of something that would encourage kids to read and start writing at a young age. I’m part of something even bigger now… I get to go into classrooms and directly inspire the children to not just read and write, but to never let go of their imagination. At the end of it all, I’m the one who get’s inspired to keep doing what I’m doing, while adding more and more books to my series.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, were you able to find it? If you are going through WordPress it should be on the top toolbar to the left.

Hi! Although I am a senior in high school, I have been thinking about jobs quite a bit lately. This sounds perfect! I am so jealous but happy for you! How were you able to get this kind of life style?

Hi Melanie! Thanks for your comment! It was so easy to get started! My friend let me in on this business. She slowly built her business after work and in 6 months she retired from my company and is now travelling the world! She only works an hour or sometimes 2 a day! She is only 26 years old :) As long as there is an internet connection, you are good to go! She was my inspiration and with her coaching I don’t have to go back to my HR job :) What is your best email address? I can send you more information that way!

Thank you for visiting my blog. I have just become a grandmother. I had 3 boys under the age of three and going forward now have 3 just under the age of 40! The youngest just presented us with the most adorable little girl: Ariadne Rose. I didn’t work away from home when the children were young either. Fortunate for me, and I waited until they were all in their late teens before starting another career!

Congratulations Deborah on becoming a grandmother! I feel your excitement since I get to see how excited my mom is! Piper is her first grandchild too and she is so happy :) She has a beautiful name too. I am glad that you had the opportunity to stay home. My mother in law had three boys under the age of 3 as well but was a nurse and had to continue with shift work. She would have loved to stay at home.

    Hi Nickie.

Thanks for dropping by and joining my small community, it means a lot. I hope you have as much fun has you can have with your beautiful daughter. I wasn’t so lucky when my son was growing up, but it never stopped me from having quality-time with him though.

Let every minute be as special as the next, because before you know it, they’re adults themselves. I wish you every success in your endeavours.

Nickie, Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for the follow. I don’t seem to find the button to follow yours ’cause I like the topics you post. :( And I see I’m not the only one. But that doesn’t take me from keep visiting o.k.? 😉 Glad to read that you got rid of the alarm and be more with the kids! Unfortunately sometimes it’s more difficult for some of us reach such a goal like that, no matter how much we want or tried (I’ve been there so that’s why I can say it), but as long as we give enough love and attention to our kids and make sure they are in a safe place when we need to work we can look back and be proud of ourselves. :) Have a wonderful and blessed weekend!

Thanks! Have you looked on the top left toolbar on wordpress to follow? I will go back to my settings and see if I can make it easier!! I will be happy for the visits though! You are right, as long as your family gets the love and security they need, life is the way it should be :) The business I do is easy and I could coach others to do the same so hopefully people reach out to me so I can help them! Regardless, everyone is free to do what works for them, there is no wrong way of travelling your journey. I appreciate your comment!

Hi Nickie, I checked once more for the “follow” button but it’s really not on your blog. I noticed your permalink doesn’t have WordPress in it. I’m not sure how it works but maybe that might be the reason? But luckily I found the button to learn about your secret, so I subscribed.:) Wishing you a beautiful Sunday and a wonderful week ahead!

Cool so we are country bumpkin sisters. May I ask the name of your brother’s roping team?? My son and I do Rodeo’s. My son is a bull rider and I do barrels, and Tennessee Walker competition. I have a world Grand Champion Tennessee Walker. Nice to meet a new a sister! :)

It sure is! I actually tried the barrels, but I was too caught up with my dancing by the time I was old enough to enter the highschool rodeo association. I decided to stick with dancing. They don’t name the teams often in Canada, especially the area we are in. They just go as Curtis and Tyler. Curtis is my brother. You must be on pins and needles a lot with your son being a bull rider!
